Perspectives on emotion with Jake Dartington

13 December 2020 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sometimes people practise meditation in order to cultivate a calm emotional state. While there is a place for this, strong emotions continue to arise in the midst of the personal, ecological and political challenges we face. How do we work with these skilfully? Is it helpful to see emotions as ‘positive’ and ‘negative’? And how does this fit with the ‘non-judgemental’ stance often associated with mindfulness? We’ll explore these questions through talks, guided practices, and sitting and walking meditation.
