In-person: The Cultivation of Awareness and Ethics with John Peacock

EVENT DESCRIPTION

All too often meditation and the cultivation of awareness are seen as an ends in themselves. In this evening talk and discussion I want to raise the question of the relationship between these key Buddhist practices and ethics as a way of life through the cultivation of a virtuous character.

Ethics here means not a list of rules to be followed but the development of a responsiveness that genuinely encounters the pain and joys of the world that we live in and responds appropriately.
