In-person: “Actions Without an Actor?” with Stephen Fulder
28 November 2021 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
The nature and transparency of the self, the ‘me’, is an essential core element of the journey to wisdom and a liberated life. Yet it is often hard to relate to in practice, and in life, and we can be left with it as a mysterious Buddhist concept of Anatta or emptiness.
It can become much clearer if we explore how it feels to act in life with less dependence on an actor, controller and subject. This also addresses important questions: how can we make choices, how can we act effectively, how can we engage with the community, who is it that practices, and how can we look after ourselves with less of a ‘doer’ in charge of things?
In this one day intensive we will practice and invite insights into the self and beyond the self, and explore its implications in relation to action in life, by means of meditation, exercises, dharma talk and discussion.

Events at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead, our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. Click here for more information on the system of Dana.

COVID 19 RELATED CONSIDERATIONS FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS
We are delighted to offer in-person retreats in London again. We are doing all that we can to create a safe and supportive environment for in-person events, whilst being mindful of the ongoing guidance relating to the covid-19 pandemic. At this time, we request that tickets for in-person events are booked in advance. Tickets will not be available on the day at the venue.
We are keeping up to date with the government guidelines to provide a safe environment. We are also guided by each venue’s Health and Safety measures with regard to capacity, cleaning measures and safe systems put in place. Prior to each event we will send you further information about what to expect on the day.
If it is not possible to hold the event in person due to low ticket sales or covid-19 related issues we will provide a full refund. If you are travelling from outside London to attend an in-person event, we suggest you do not book train tickets or accommodation until closer to the event date (unless your booking is fully refundable).
