Unentangled participating – a hands on letting go with Ajahn Amaro

15 July 2018 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Our minds are easily caught in an addictive cycle of craving, getting, dissatisfaction and then craving for more. The object of craving may be clearly destructive, such as smoking or consuming alcohol, but it may also be ostensibly wholesome, like a better education, a better-paid job, a nicer car, a more satisfying partner, or even for an inspiring spiritual teacher or exalted meditative achievements. Yet does this mean we should be passive and unmotivated to do any thing good to help ourselves and others?   Meditation can help to free us from these destructive cycles as well us inform us as to how to work effectively, with a liberating motivation. By training our minds to look directly at the nature of experience we can understand the depth of our attachments and let them go, as well as learn how to engage with life in a stress-free, joyful way.

This day will thus explore that mysterious Middle Way that frees the heart from its compulsions while making effort with peace and ease

Events at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood.
