24 May 2020 9:00am - 8:00pm
and 25 May 2020 9:00am - 5:00pm
A course for experienced practitioners – please note commitment is required for the whole course. Please note the extended timings on some of the days.
On this retreat we will work on deepening our meditation practice and developing the skills for Samatha (serenity) and Jhana (absorption) states. Emphasis will be placed on creatively using the sound of silence (Shabd or Nada) as a focus for concentration. Once the feeling resonance of the ‘sound-current’ is activated through meditation, subtle energy circulation, Qi Gong practices and chanting, we will look at strategies to release the first three fetters on the path: sceptical doubt, self view and attachment to rituals. These days are experiential and only suitable for meditators with prior retreat experience who wish to deepen their practice.
Our intention with this course is to gather a group of committed and experienced practitioners to deepen our practice together. As such we are asking for applicants to who have an established and committed practice:
- to have previously participated in at least one week long Buddhist meditation retreat
- at least 3 years of consistent practice regular meditation practice
- the ability to sit for one hour periods and skill in holding one’s own process during the course
- commitment is required for the whole course, single day attendance is not possible.
Please check that you meet these criteria before booking this course. If you do not meet any of these criteria, this course is not appropriate for you at this time.
