Renunciation – blessed simplicity with Ajahn Amaro
9 August 2020 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
The English word ‘renunciation’ carries with it connotations of diminution and lack – giving up something that you are used to, or that you really like. The Buddhist reading of the word evokes more the quality of simplicity and is tied to the insight into anattā and its attribute of ‘non-owning’. This day will look at feelings of owning, entitlement, complication and dependency, as well as explore meditation practices and activities that lead to inner and outer simplicity and independence.
This day will include periods of sitting (some guided) and walking meditation, Dhamma talks and Q&A. The participants will be encouraged to maintain noble silence.
