DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION\nFaced with uncontrollable circumstances\, in which things seem to be going to pieces\, we often respond with switching off\, despair or denial\, and if we go out to change things\, it can often be an exhausting and endless struggle. \nEquanimity is a key psychological and spiritual faculty\, which allows us to face the challenges of life with steadiness and lightness\, and a more universal and less personal point of view. Equanimity supports tireless engagement in making a difference. \nIn this online day we will explore and practice equanimity. Insight meditation leads to equanimity\, and trust\, as we learn to stay steady and receive whatever comes. There are also specific practices which we can explore. \n‘Let our meditation be like the earth’ said the Buddha\, ‘for then satisfying and unsatisfying contacts with the world through the senses will not invade the mind.’ \n  \nTEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES\nEvents at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching.
