Mindfulness as the craft of deepening embodiment with Christina Feldman & Chris Cullen

7 November 2020 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

This is a day for mindfulness teachers and those interested in mindfulness-based approaches. The Buddha’s teachings present mindfulness of the body as the appropriate foundation and classroom for all mindfulness practice. The theme of ‘Embodiment’ is also central to contemporary mindfulness-based approaches, and the ways in which these are being understood through research.

During this day, we will explore what is meant by embodiment, considering how the practice and craft of mindfulness of the body can deepen and develop so as to become an increasingly profound and invaluable resource and means of Awakening. We will identify the key dimensions of this practice that can support and enable the work of mindfulness teachers, and explore what it means to deepen one’s embodiment of skilful attitudes and liberating insights. Reflections on what it means to be an embodied mindfulness teacher will be a key theme running through the day.

The day will be particularly oriented to mindfulness teachers and those interested in contemporary mindfulness-based approaches, but anyone wishing to deepen their exploration of mindfulness and embodiment will be most welcome. Our time together will include periods of practice, teaching, discussion, and shared investigation
