Love me, love my monkey: self acceptance (for experienced practitioners) with Ajahn Sucitto

22 September 2019 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Although we experience aspects of ourself as flawed, problematic or shameful, any clearance of these has to begin with removing the distaste, guilt or frustration with them. The cool perspective of insight is that this conflicted self is really an acquired set of drives and assumptions. This allows this ill-will to shift and be replaced by warm-hearted clarity. To discover this natural heartfulness is transformative; it gradually replaces the isolated self as a source of action. This weekend of practice will include chanting, bodywork and relational exercises as well as silent sitting.

The Saturday retreat is open to all but this Sunday retreat is for experienced practitioners – a foundation in Dhamma practice – such as three previous London Insight weekends, or five years’ of regular meditation practice is required for this retreat.

Events at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. You will be invited to make a financial contribution to Chithurst Buddhist Monastery at the event.  Click here for more information
