SUMMARY:In-person: What Happens in Mindfulness
DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION \nWhat goes on in our minds when we are mindful? What does it mean to talk of mindfulness as a way of being? From a psychological perspective\, how do core elements of contemplative traditions have their beneficial effects? Evolution has gifted us two types of knowing—conceptual and holistic–intuitive—and mindfulness helps us reach a healthier balance between them. This shift in consciousness not only reduces emotional suffering\, but can also lead to greater joy and compassion and a transformed sense of self.  \nThis half-day event is suitable for those with some experience of mindfulness who wish to gain a deeper understanding of their practice and its potential. \n  \nTEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES \nEvents at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. Click here for more information on the system of Dana. \n  \nEVENT PRICES \nStandard:  £15  – This covers our costs\nSponsor:  £20  – A voluntary higher rate enabling us to offer supported rate places.\nSupported: £10  – For those unable to afford the standard rate \nPlease pay the sponsored rate if you can. \nIf you are unable to afford the supported rate please let us know. We try to ensure that no one is turned away because of lack of funds\, providing places are available. \n  \nCOVID 19 RELATED CONSIDERATIONS FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS \nWe are delighted to offer in-person events in London again. We are doing all that we can to create a safe and supportive environment for in-person events\, whilst being mindful of the ongoing guidance relating to covid-19. At this time\, we request that tickets for in-person events are booked in advance. Tickets will not be available on the day at the venue. \nWe are keeping up to date with the government guidelines. We are also guided by each venue’s Health and Safety measures with regard to capacity\, cleaning measures and safety systems. Prior to each event we will send you further information about what to expect on the day.
