DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION\nCompassion can be defined as the way love responds to suffering. Yet many of us find it easier to feel compassion for others compared to ourselves\, and sometimes get swamped by the troubles of the world. Is this then really the compassion that leads to wisdom and peace? \nUsing various methods\, reflections and means\, this retreat will explore and cultivate compassion in the way the Buddha praised. We will develop compassionate\, tender concern for ourselves and the world\, softening to our experience without judgement and gently opening our hearts\, so that we can respond effectively and gain insight into the way things are. \nThe retreat will include Dhamma reflection\, guided sitting meditation\, walking meditation and a Q&A session. It is suitable for all those who want to develop healthy compassion. \n  \nTEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES\nEvents at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. Click here for more information on the system of Dana. \n  \nBOOKING FEE\nSponsor:  £50  – A voluntary higher rate enabling us to offer supported rate places.\nStandard:  £35\nSupported: £15  – For those unable to afford the standard rate. \nPlease pay the sponsor rate if you can. If you are unable to afford the supported rate please let us know. We try to ensure that no one is turned away because of lack of funds\, providing places are available. \nOnline ticket sales have now closed. A few tickets will be available in the morning at the event (but exact cash only as we are unable to give change or take card payment at the venue).
