DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION\nAn exploration of the eight vicissitudes\, or worldly winds\, of gain and loss\, happiness and suffering\, praise and blame and fame and disrepute. These universal human experiences shake our personal and collective worlds. But what if we meet them with mindfulness and investigate them with wisdom? Insight meditation offers ways to transform them from things to be feared into gateways to freedom. \nThis day retreat will include periods of teaching\, guided and silent sitting and walking meditation and time for questions. \n  \nTEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES\nEvents at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. Click here for more information on the system of Dana. \n  \nBOOKING FEE\nSponsor: £50 – A voluntary higher rate enabling us to offer supported rate places.\nStandard:  £35\nSupported: £15 – For those unable to afford the standard rate. \nPlease pay the sponsor rate if you can. If you are unable to afford the supported rate please let us know. We try to ensure that no one is turned away because of lack of funds\, providing places are available. \nOnline ticket sales have now closed. However\, some tickets will be available at the venue in the morning of the event (exact cash only).
