DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION\nIn the midst of our lives\, in the midst of multiple world challenges\, how can embodiment – the first foundation of mindfulness – support and nourish us? \nThis daylong retreat will explore practices classically offered to establish mindfulness of body\, including reflections on the four elements\, and contemplation of impermanence. \nCo-creating a welcoming\, inclusive community\, we will support each other to bring the teachings of the Buddhist tradition into the heart of our lives\, connecting and re-connecting to aspirations for meeting stress and vulnerability with wisdom and compassion. \nRiver will be assisted on the day by Community Dharma Leader (CDL) trainees Christene Burgess and Noah Nkonge. The day will be held primarily in companionable silence\, with optional opportunities to share experience. Meditation sessions will be 30-40 minutes long\, there will be guidance for sitting\, walking\, and lying down\, but you are welcome to find postures that best honour your physical needs and energy levels. There will also be dharma reflections and discussion. All are welcome\, including newcomers to meditation or mindfulness. \n  \nTEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES\nEvents at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. Click here for more information on the system of Dana. \n  \nBOOKING FEE\nSponsor: £50 – A voluntary higher rate enabling us to offer supported rate places.\nStandard:  £35\nSupported: £15 – For those unable to afford the standard rate. \nPlease pay the sponsor rate if you can. If you are unable to afford the supported rate please let us know. We try to ensure that no one is turned away because of lack of funds\, providing places are available. \nOnline bookings have now closed for this event.
