DESCRIPTION:EVENT DESCRIPTION \nWe sometimes live our lives as if we are under a spell\, an enchantment. We are captivated by the craving\, aversion\, biases and distortions of the mind. As addicts\, this enchantment manifests as destructive habit patterns. \nWhen we cultivate Mindfulness\, Serenity\, Insight and Ethics\, we open up new ways of seeing ourselves\, new ways of seeing the world\, and new ways of living. We break the spell and become disenchanted. \nThis daylong retreat will include mindfulness and loving-kindness meditations\, interactive exercises\, lecture\, and discussion focused on breaking out of destructive internal and external habit patterns\, the spells that bind us. \nThe event is primarily intended for people in or exploring recovery from any kind of addiction or destructive habit. This includes the spectrum from substances to relationships and other behaviours. \n  \nTEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES \nEvents at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. Instead our teachers rely on the generosity of participants for their livelihood. Click here for more information on the system of Dana. \n  \nEVENT PRICES \nStandard:  £20  – This covers our costs\nSponsor:  £25  – A voluntary higher rate enabling us to offer supported rate places.\nSupported: £12  – For those unable to afford the standard rate \nPlease pay the sponsor rate if you can. \nIf you are unable to afford the supported rate please let us know. We try to ensure that no one is turned away because of lack of funds\, providing places are available. \n  \nCOVID 19 RELATED CONSIDERATIONS FOR IN-PERSON EVENTS \nWe are delighted to offer in-person events in London again. We are doing all that we can to create a safe and supportive environment for in-person events\, whilst being mindful of the ongoing guidance relating to covid-19. At this time\, we request that tickets for in-person events are booked in advance. \nWe are keeping up to date with the government guidelines. We are also guided by each venue’s Health and Safety measures with regard to capacity\, cleaning measures and safety systems.
