Fundamentals of buddhism – acting wisely with Jake Dartington
24 March 2018 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
This is one of a series of three workshops exploring the Buddha’s teaching of the eightfold path (the other two take place on 24th February and 21st April). Through dharma talks, meditation and discussion, we will reflect on wise speech, action and livelihood. We will explore how the five precepts provide an ongoing framework for reflection on our ethical conduct. We will reflect on some of the challenges of practising wise speech and consider the art of knowing what to say in difficult situations. There will also be time to think about how we can find ways to make our work express our deepest values. The workshop will particularly focus on the practical application of these teachings in our everyday lives and is suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience.
