Martine Batchelor’s day-long retreat, on Sunday 13th May, gave us plenty to think about as always. She wanted us to move away from ideas of equanimity and acceptance as passive and possibly numbing, deadening qualities; equanimity can be creative, and acceptance can be dynamic.
In advance of their dialogue on 20th May, Stephen Batchelor and leading secular Christian Don Cupitt have written statements outlining their respective visions for a contemporary spirituality.
